Book binding methods

This week I visited a book restaurateur lady who is working downtown. I looked at the old book-binding machines they are still using in their work today. I was allowed to walk around and take photographs if I come across any books I find interesting. The one that can be seen below has ropes and textile elements I find lovely. I am thinking about using something similar when making my handmade book for the upcoming exhibition. I also found the wooden cover to be an interesting idea and to add leather bands when making the bookbinding process. Concerning the pages that will be the base for the book, I am thinking about using paper or canvas materials to print the photographs/paintings on them, I still have to decide which material I will use.
